TOO SWEET

One of the things about eating outside during, or in, any warm climate is you will get a honeybee or two flying around your food, sweet drink or loud colored clothes. Swat one and you will get stung, so leave them alone. One other annoyance of sitting in the outside patio is the stinky smell of cigarette smoke, but this entry is not about the cigarettes but about the swarming honeybees.

The other day I walked to Mercado Merced here in México City and was surprised to see that honey bees had taken over a candy stall. The stall employees were nowhere to be found. The whole time I was at the stall taking pictures and video no employees ever came over to ask if I needed assistance. I think they had already ducked for cover somewhere or maybe they had gotten stung and had an allergic reaction and where on their way to the hospital.

While shooting the video, it was sort of electrifying to have the many swarming honeybees bump into yout hand. Though I was a little nervous I never got stung.

What can one do when nature just says, To Hell with YOU.

Everyone of those dots in the picture is a honeybee
