VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE II
2008 December 14
Well being at the Basilica on the feast day, December 12, 2008, of the Virgen de Guadalupe was awesome. It was a sea of brown indigenous people that came from all over. A lot of people walked, rode bikes or ran to make their pilgrimage to the Virgen de Guadalupe. Once near the Basilica some people finished the rest of their reverence on their knees – OUCH!
The attendance to this years Dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe was at 7 million people, well + one more!

I really considered going to the Basilica on the 12th to take some photos, but I decided the sheer number of people would be too much for my patience! Having seen your photos, I wish I had gone. Nevermind, there is always next year! Great blog by the way.
Gary, thank you for visiting.
And like you I was told not to go because of the large amount of people, but I went anyway and it was not bad at all. It was a most beautiful sight to see the mass of people in their devotion to the Virgen Morena.
The people: It was all-manageable because no one wants to be rude or crude on the Dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe. Everyone was most pleasant. So please do go next year, you will be glad you did.
And thank you for you nice comment about my blog.
